About a month ago I heard this song from Taylor Swift called New Years Day. I immediately thought it would be some overplayed holiday song. It really was not at all. Instead it was a beautiful ballad that recounted a fun evening with a variety of emotions. Those emotions are evolving just like the spirit that we all typically feel on New Years. Questions like "where will we be?", "will we still feel the same way?", and "what will change?" are all addressed.
I know ever year at the end of the year I think, well I never thought I would have done that! This year I feel like I never would say I ended being the busiest I have ever been.
I never thought I would end a brunette.
I never thought I would end up STILL single.
I never thought I would end as a business owner.
I never thought I was end the year with the same best friend I had 10 years ago.
I never thought I would have so many new friends.
I never thought I would be down to one TV show that I watch.
I never thought I would reconnect with a friend from high school.
My resolution is to stop trying to look so far into the future. One of my strengths is futuristic. Sometimes this is a curse. Sometimes I don't give my chance to live in the moment. Enjoy the moments and give them time to become good memories. Don't become a robot that just works through life.
