How many of you feel immediately old when you hear the words "jello shots". Me too. My BFWF (best Fort Wayne friend), Jessica, came over for New Years just over a month ago to enjoy safe festivities at my place. I always want to stay home. I am terrified of drunk drivers on holidays, and I am way more entertained by Netflix and my cats then any other entertainment out there.
I thought that I would try to do something different and creative. Since Jess always brings the wine, I thought I would provide the wine and some interesting alternatives. I was stumbling around in my storage closest looking for something for my oils class, and I found my adorable cordial glasses from my Pier One days. I thought, what if I took some Champagne jello and mixed it with the actual Champagne?
It was mildly genius and I loved it. I was disappointed by the lack of jello options. I thought when I was younger they had way more flavors. I finally found a strawberry peach possibly off brand jello that would work with the peach champagne. I added gold sprinkles as the recipe suggested and I don't know if it would have been worth it without the sprinkles. They added a sweetness that was perfect.
Here is what I used:
½ cup water
1 ounce gelatin
2 cups champagne Peach Barefoot
½ cup ginger ale
add edible gold stars or sprinkles
If you are looking to liven up your drink, I recommend trying this. I wouldn't just eat the jello, but it was amazing when mixed in a dessert glass with the champagne.
If this is being posted before 7pm, I'm a poser. I'm probably drinking tea.
